Debt relief is possible with a Consumer Proposal

The Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act allows you to make a consumer proposal to your creditors to; reduce the amount of your debt, extend the time you have to pay off the debt, or some combination of both. For example, a proposal will attempt to settle your debt asking creditors to accept being paid a percentage of your debt over a period of time, interest free. When you file a consumer proposal, your unsecured creditors will not be able to initiate or continue legal or collection actions against you.
